Insanity: Results and Expectations

Insanity Results

Finding the time to exercise is really hard.  It’s probably harder now than it’s ever been.  If you have a demanding job or a family, it can feel impossible at times.  You wake up, go to work, go pick up the kids, prepare dinner, and maybe have a chance to eat yourself.  The day can go by quickly with just your normal routine.

I know from personal experience that your mind is never as convincing as when it’s giving you reasons NOT to work out.  No courtroom lawyer in any movie has ever made a better argument than the one you tell yourself that will get you out physical exertion.  The excuses all seem really logical: “If I spend an hour working out, I’ll be too tired to cook dinner,” or, “I can’t start working out on Wednesday (who does that?).  I’ll start my workout routine next Monday (that makes more sense).”  Then you sit on your couch and turn on the tv and do nothing for the next few hours.

The excuses pile up along with the pounds around your belly and thighs, and you feel like you can never be fit because you’re not “one of those people.”  It can be really difficult thinking that only a select few are unfairly predestined to have flat stomachs, firm backsides, and toned arms.  Fortunately, this is just our mind giving us bad information.  Anyone can be fit and healthy with the right instruction and the right attitude.  That’s where the Insanity Workout comes in.

This site is going to give a thorough overview of what you can expect when you start the Insanity workout and what sort of results you can look forward to.  If this is your first time hearing about Insanity, I encourage you to look around the site and get more information.  If you’ve already seen their commercials or you heard about it from a friend, this site will give you a better idea if Insanity is right for you.

What is Insanity?

If you haven’t already heard of the Insanity workout, you probably haven’t watched tv on a weekday afternoon or any day after midnight.  The infomercials are on all the time.  The company that created Insanity, Beachbody, is a very well respected fitness program creator.  They created Insanity as a way to give normal people excellent weight loss and fitness results in a relatively short amount of time.

The workout is called Insanity because it’s very tough.  This is not a workout where you will feel comfortable the whole time and barely break a sweat.  The intention is reverse interval training.  In normal interval training, a person will work out a reasonable pace for most of the workout, but have quick bursts of high intensity sprinkled in.  In the case of running on a treadmill, a person might jog at a medium pace for five minutes, then go at an all-out sprint for thirty seconds, then jog for another 5 minutes, and alternate between the two.

In Insanity, you’ll work out extremely hard for most of the time, and intersperse periods of moderate activity for a shorter amount of time.  See how that might make you lose weight faster?  If you see some of the results, people went from overweight to absolutely shredded and toned in just 60 days.

Who is Shaun T?

In Insanity, you’ll be taught by Shaun T.  Shaun is a high-energy fitness instructor who previously was featured on the very popular Hip Hop Abs training program, also by Beachbody.  Shaun is really motivating, and he pushes the viewer really hard.  But he also keeps it fun, which is really important when you feel like the workout might be too intense.  He helps you push through the pain and keep burning more calories.  Also, some of the other Beachbody instructors can come off a bit corny and tell bad jokes during the video (cough, Tony Horton), but Shaun T just puts you at ease and isn’t distracting.

What type of results can I get from Insanity?

If you push yourself and stick to the workout schedule, the results can be staggering.  Just look at the user reviews on Amazon:

Julee Y. Pruett said,

“If you are dedicated to working out at home and trying to save money instead of going to a gym this is for you. If you also want to supplement your other workout routines this is also a plus for you. The cardio is “Insane”! Its a really great work out. I am happy I purchased this. I photo copied my schedule so I can use it over and over again without writing on the sheet provided. I have a few co-workers who also have used this product with great results!”

Madeleine Alger raved,

“BEST CARDIO you’ll ever get! I cannot praise this program enough! I was a slave to the treadmill (an hour EVERY DAY) and couldn’t get my body to change. After incorporating a clean diet and Insanity, I went from a size 8 to a size 2 (145 to 128 lbs) in 60 days. The program is TOUGH. I’m glad that no one has tried to sugar coat this program. It also requires a lot of devotion to get the full results. Committing to 6 days a week is no easy feat, but the results are so worth it! Along with the physical benefits, I love completing an Insanity work out! It feels amazing to get stronger and faster every week.

This program is NOT for someone that does not have self-discipline and motivation. Pushing play every day takes a lot of determination. If you want great results, you should complete this program!”

Those are just 2 of the over 1700 (!!!) 5-star reviews on Amazon.  Many people rated it highly for different reasons.  However, the common theme in the reviews was that the program just works.  People lost pounds and inches and amazing rate on Insanity.

One warning I saw a couple of times is for those with severe joint pain (knees, ankles, shoulders, etc.).  This program is tough on the joints, and if you already have substantial issues with those areas, this may not be the program for you.  That being said, others have experienced decreased joint pain due to no longer being overweight after completing the program.  Please use caution and discretion if you fall within this category.

Added Benefit

One thing that many people mentioned is that they quit their gym membership because of Insanity.  If you are on the Insanity workout, you definitely won’t need to belong to a gym.  In fact, after your workout, you probably won’t even want to think about a gym.  The thought of working out even more will seem crazy.  The monthly cost of a gym membership can range from $40 to $100 or more.  Think about the savings over the course of a few months or a year if you don’t have to pay that fee every month.

Where to buy

The best place to order the Insanity program is on Amazon.  As of this writing, it’s 15% off at a price of $144.80.  If you’re an Amazon Prime member, you can also get free 2-day shipping!  Because this workout doesn’t require weights or other equipment, that is all you’ll need to spend to get started.  That’s basically only 2-3 months of a gym membership!

I think we thoroughly covered what you can expect if you order the Insanity workout.  It will be tough, it will take commitment, and you might think it’s not worth it at first.  However, another thing you can expect if you complete the first 60 days is body transformation.  Love handles will disappear, thighs and backsides will firm up, arms and chests will tone, and your heart will be in much better condition.  If you want a workout that just flat-out works, order Insanity today!
